Episode 1 - First Week
In their first pattern challenge, the contestants were tasked with creating a top that featured an elegant twist at its centre. This seemingly simple construction held a bit of brain-teaser, adding an extra layer of challenge to the task. We spotted Fauve working with some cotton lawn – Garden of Shakespeare for this project which looked fab!
During the 90-minute Transformation Challenge, the participants were given a conventional office uniform consisting of a pencil skirt or a blouse. Their objective was to infuse their unique personal style into the ensemble, adding their own creative twist to make it truly reflective of their individuality. The quirkier the better and although the judges didn’t seem to agree we personally loved Tony R’s shorts! Totally raaaad!
During the Made to Measure round, the contestant’s task was to skilfully tailor a dress with intricate cut-out details, striving to achieve a flawless fit that accentuates the model's figure. A brilliant challenge that some fabulous designs (a particular favourite was Matthews rather risqué dress) and it saw some real team work as they worked to help Catherine make it to the runway. It really was a joy to watch.
We also found out this week that Esme has a slight obsession with skulls...who knew?!
Garment of the Week went to Tony W’s Stretch Fabric Cut-Out Dress (extra kudos to him for using stretch fabric!)
We had to say farewell to Catherine and we are all a little bit gutted about this one!
