This Season's Hottest Colour - Pink!

I love that pink is so on trend right now, it is one of my favourite colours and especially a hot bright pink as somehow it makes me look younger. I am not shallow but anything that defies age is a bonus for me. I love pink for men too, and again the brighter the better. Over time it is a colour that has gone from being associated with masculinity, to females and now it is a colour for all.

Throughout history it was associated with masculinity with French Kings surrounding themselves in shocking shades of pink. After the war, advertising agencies declared ‘Pink Chic’ and in the 1950's when Marilyn Monroe started wearing Elsa Schiaparelli’s pink collections, she started a trend. Advertising agencies began the feminisation of pink and it featured heavily in all things for women, from kitchens, to perfume to womenswear and so became associated as a female colour.

In the 2020’s Pink is a colour for everyone and everyone can find a shade to suit themselves. There are so many options, from a covert candyfloss pink to a bright shocking hot pink! Anyone can embrace pink into their wardrobe and, of course, we have a fabulous range of pink fabrics available on our website for you to make your own ensemble.

If you don’t want to wear ‘full pink’, you can subtly highlight an outfit with pink accessories or lining the inside of a suit with a pink lining, is still a brilliant way to incorporate that lovely pop of colour! Pink is a colour that brings happiness whilst also being soothing and uplifting. In psychology it is a sign of hope and positivity. It can be worn in a bold and classy way, as a trouser suit or it can be styled in a more sweet way as a long, flowy skirt. It is amazing in the spring and summer months as it complements the sunshine beautifully but it is equally as amazing in the autumn/winter months as it adds a pop of brightness during the dull, rainy days to bring a smile to anyone’s face!

As there are so many shades of pink it is able to flatter all body types and ages with a range of celebrities, from Daniel Craig, Helen Mirren and to the Queen herself.
